For Educators & School Leaders

Your district has a
federal mandate for AI literacy.
The curriculum is already built.

Pathfinder's integrated AI & Technology Literacy curriculum is aligned to EO 14277, the DOL AI Literacy Framework, and NY state legislation — with a free pilot program to get you started this semester, no PO required.

The Case for Acting Now

Students are making career decisions in a market that no existing curriculum was designed for.

The jobs students were preparing for are being automated faster than schools can update their guidance. The students who will be hired — and paid significantly more — are the ones who understand how to work with AI, not just use it. That's a teachable skill. Federal policy now requires you to teach it. Pathfinder gives you everything you need to do that.

The Curriculum

A four-layer framework — integrated, not isolated.

Most AI literacy courses treat technology as a separate subject. This curriculum rejects that. It builds four interdependent layers simultaneously — aligned to the DOL AI Literacy Framework's five content areas and designed to be woven into existing courses without a full rebuild.

1
Machine Intelligence
Understanding what AI actually is — and isn't
DOL Content Area 1
What AI is and isn't: pattern recognition and probabilistic outputs
How machine learning works: training data, parameters, model behavior
Generative AI: how text, images, and code are produced
The limits of AI: hallucination, bias, and the absence of understanding
Large language models explained: tokens, probabilities, next-word prediction
Physical AI and agentic AI: what's coming next
2
Technical & Hard Skills
How students interact with and direct machine intelligence
DOL Content Areas 2, 3, 4
Prompt engineering: context, role, task, constraints, format
Iterative prompting: refining outputs for precision
Data literacy: reading datasets, identifying bias, basic statistics
Fact-checking and auditing AI outputs
Cybersecurity basics and data privacy in AI tools
APIs, platforms, and automation workflows
Intro programming to understand AI logic (Python or block-based)
Digital content creation: attribution, copyright, and disclosure
3
Human Cognition
The thinking skills that allow students to govern and direct AI
DOL Delivery Principle
Critical thinking: interrogating AI outputs, not just accepting them
Lateral reading and source verification
Recognizing the difference between AI optimization and human insight
Systems thinking: how AI decisions ripple through other systems
Decision-making under uncertainty: AI predictions as inputs, not answers
Creativity: finding ideas that don't exist in AI's training data
Scenario planning across multiple probabilistic futures
Using AI as a creative accelerator without losing creative identity
4
Human Skills & Ethics
Leadership, responsibility, and what it means to manage AI well
DOL Content Area 5
Algorithmic bias and fairness: case studies across hiring, healthcare, education
Privacy, surveillance, and data rights
Who is responsible when AI causes harm
Ethics-by-design as a professional practice
Communication: translating AI concepts to non-technical audiences
Disclosure: when and how to acknowledge AI use professionally
Emotional intelligence: what AI cannot perceive — nuance, lived experience
Civic leadership: advocacy, democratic participation, inclusive AI

Student Companion

The 20% Human Edge — the e-book that goes with the curriculum.

Nine chapters aligned chapter-by-chapter with the video series. Every chapter ends with a portfolio exercise — a real artifact students can use in college applications, interviews, or career counseling conversations. Chapter 1 is free.

Chapter 1
The Ladder Is Gone
What the job market actually looks like in 2026 — and why that's not the same as hopeless.
Chapter 2
The 80/20 Split
AI does the 80%; your job is to own the 20% that requires judgment, context, and humanity.
Chapter 3
Prompt Like a Professional
Prompting is thinking made visible — the quality of your prompts reflects the quality of your mind.
Chapter 4
Think Before the Machine Does
Knowing when to trust AI and when to override it is the most valuable cognitive skill of this decade.
Chapter 5
The Human Interface
Communication and empathy aren't soft skills — they're the skills AI cannot replicate.
Chapter 6
Ethics Is Not Optional
A personal AI ethics framework is a professional asset and a career defense.
Chapter 7
Build the Portfolio Before the Résumé
The right portfolio shows decisions, not just deliverables.
Chapter 8
The AI-Era Job Search
The students getting hired in 2026 are the ones who direct AI in the interview room.
Chapter 9
Stay Ahead of the Next Shift
The only sustainable career strategy is a learning system that outlasts any single tool.
Where It Fits

No new course required. Pathfinder integrates into what you already run.

The curriculum is designed to layer into existing school structures with minimal lift — no new hire, no full-year commitment, no disruption to current schedules.

CTE / Career Readiness

Full curriculum integration — all four layers map directly to career cluster outcomes and future-ready skill frameworks.

Counseling & Advisory

The Pathfinder platform and e-book give counselors shared vocabulary and structured exercises to run in 1:1 or small-group settings.

English / ELA

Chapters 4 and 5 — critical thinking and communication — fit naturally into units on argumentation, source evaluation, and professional writing.

Computer Science / Tech

Modules 1 and 2 of the video series map directly to CS fundamentals — without requiring students to learn to code from scratch.

Social Studies / Civics

Layer 4 — ethics, governance, and civic agency — connects directly to existing civics outcomes around technology, policy, and democratic participation.

College & Career Planning

Chapters 7–9 and the Pathfinder assessment give seniors a practical, portfolio-building system they can use immediately in college and job applications.

Who Built This

Not a researcher. Someone who was in the room.

"I was in the room when AI showed up in real workforces. I watched what happened. Then I looked at what schools were teaching students — and saw a gap."

Tammy Scandalis is a mother of four Gen Z kids and brings 20+ years of experience at the director level inside some of the world's most recognized technology companies — where she led the learning strategy and leadership development of engineering teams and senior leaders. She introduced AI into function-specific workflows at a top-tier global cloud computing leader and an AI startup — working alongside engineers, analysts, ops teams, and HR professionals as they navigated the shift in real time. She didn't read about what happened when AI arrived in the workplace. She was the one designing how organizations responded to it.

When she looked at what students were being told about their futures, she found generic optimism and outdated career maps. Pathfinder is what she built to fill that gap — because the people who know what employers actually need aren't writing the career guides.

Free Pilot Program

Start with one class. No PO needed.

Schools need to de-risk before a full site license makes sense. The free pilot is designed specifically for that — one class or grade level, a full set of materials included, real teacher and student feedback at the end.

  • 1
    Kickoff call — 20 minutes
We align on grade level, existing course structure, and the right entry point. No demo, no pitch — just fit.
  • 2
    6-week pilot — one class
Full access to the curriculum framework, video series, student worksheets, teacher guides, and the Pathfinder platform for your pilot group.
  • 3
    Debrief + next steps
We review results together — what worked, what to adjust — and map out what broader implementation could look like for your school or district.

Ready to talk?

Reach out directly to start the conversation. A 20-minute call is all it takes to figure out if there's a fit and what a pilot would look like for your school.

The policy window is open. The curriculum is ready.

EO 14277 requires AI education. NY legislation is moving. The districts that move first will have a head start on compliance, grant eligibility, and student outcomes. Let's talk.
